Sorting, Filtering and Searching Aliases

Sorting, Filtering and Searching Aliases

How to find and organise what you're looking for in your alias list

2 min read
Updated May 11, 2026

Once you have more than a handful of aliases, being able to find the right one quickly matters. Here's what's available.

Search

The search bar at the top of the aliases page searches across alias names, addresses, and descriptions. It searches as you type with a short delay — no need to press Enter.

If you named your aliases well and wrote descriptions, search gets you there fast. If you've been using "Alias 1", "Alias 2" — now's a good time to fix that.

Filtering by category

The category dropdown next to the search bar lets you view only aliases in a specific category. Useful when you want to see all your shopping aliases, or all your work ones, without the rest getting in the way.

"All categories" is the default. Select a category name to narrow the list.

Filtering by domain

If you have aliases across multiple domains (your own custom domain plus the brand domains like aliasfleet.me or afleet.me), the domain filter lets you see only one domain at a time. This comes in handy when you're managing which aliases use which domain.

The domain filter appears as a chip above the alias list when a domain is selected via the URL — you can also click a domain name in any alias card to filter by it.

Sorting

Click the sort control to change the order of your alias list. Options:

  • Name — alphabetical by alias address
  • Created — newest or oldest first
  • Forwarded — most emails forwarded first (useful for seeing your busiest aliases)
  • Blocked — most blocked first (useful for finding aliases receiving spam)

Click the sort direction arrow to flip between ascending and descending. Your sort preference is saved across sessions.

Combining filters

Search, category filter, and sort all work together. You can search for "amazon" within your "Shopping" category, sorted by most forwarded. The results update as you adjust each control.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the search bar look for?

The search checks alias names, addresses, and descriptions. It updates as you type with a short debounce delay.

Can I search within a specific category only?

Yes, use the category filter dropdown first, then search. The results will only include aliases in that category.

What's the difference between filtering and sorting?

Filtering narrows which aliases are shown. Sorting changes the order of the displayed aliases without hiding any.

Are my filter and sort preferences saved?

Yes, your sort preference persists across sessions. Filters typically reset when you reload the page.
