Credit card payments can fail for various reasons: expired cards, insufficient funds, or bank fraud prevention measures. If your subscription renewal payment is declined, your AliasFleet account will enter a "past due" status.
The Retry Schedule (Dunning Process)
We do not immediately suspend your account upon a single failed payment. Instead, our automated billing system will follow a retry schedule:
- First Failure: We notify you via email immediately. Your account remains fully active.
- Subsequent Retries: The system will attempt to charge your card again over the next few days (typically 3, 5, and 7 days after the initial failure). You will receive reminder emails for each failed attempt.
- Final Attempt: If the final retry fails, your subscription is marked as unpaid, and your account features may be restricted or suspended.
How to Resolve a Failed Payment
The fastest way to restore your account to good standing is to update your billing details:
- Log in to your AliasFleet dashboard.
- Go to the Billing page.
- Click Update Payment Method to access the billing portal.
- Add a new valid credit card and set it as your default payment method.
Once the new card is saved, the system will automatically attempt to pay the outstanding invoice. Upon successful payment, your subscription status will return to active, and full access will be restored immediately.
Preventing Future Failures
To avoid service interruptions, we recommend keeping your payment information up to date. You can update your payment method at any time before your renewal date.
