Creating an alias
Go to Aliases and click New Alias. You'll fill in a short form:
Alias name — the part before the @. Keep it lowercase, something you'll recognise later: amazon, newsletter-tech, chase-bank. You can't rename it after creation, so don't rush this.
Domain — defaults to one of the available brand domains (like @aliasfleet.me or @afleet.me). If you have a custom domain on your account, you can pick it here.
Destination — which of your verified inboxes the emails should forward to. Defaults to your primary destination.
Category and Description are optional but worth filling in. A good description saves you from opening an alias six months later and having no idea what it's for.
Hit Create. The alias is live immediately.
Editing an alias
Click the three-dot menu on any alias card and choose Edit. You can change the name, description, category, and destination. The alias address itself (the part before the @) can't be changed.
Deactivating and reactivating
The toggle on each alias card turns forwarding on or off. When it's off, emails to that alias bounce — the sender gets a delivery failure, nothing reaches your inbox.
Toggle it back on and forwarding resumes immediately. History and settings are preserved.
Deleting
Three-dot menu → Delete, then confirm. The address is gone permanently — no recovery, no way to recreate it. Only delete if you're sure you don't need it.
Naming and organisation tips
One alias per service is the cleanest approach. When a site starts spamming you, you know exactly which alias to turn off — and you know which site sold your address.
Descriptions are more useful than they seem. "Amazon — created for Black Friday promo" is much more helpful than a blank field when you're deciding whether to keep an alias.
If you haven't set up categories yet, Alias categories explains how they work.
Custom domains (Pro)
On Pro you can use your own domain. Instead of shop.a3f9@aliasfleet.me your alias becomes shop@yourdomain.com. Set that up under Domains.
Replies
To reply to a forwarded email from your alias address rather than your real one, you need the reply feature enabled on your destination. See Destinations and toggle on Can Reply.
If emails aren't arriving
Check the alias is active, check your spam folder, and confirm the destination is verified. More detail at Emails not arriving.
