This section covers everything to do with aliases — from creating your first one to the finer details of how forwarding permissions work.
If you're brand new, start with Creating and managing aliases. If you already know the basics and have a specific question, the articles below cover each part of alias management on its own.
A few things worth knowing upfront
Aliases forward to destinations — the real inboxes you've verified on your account. If you haven't set up a destination yet, go to Destinations first. An alias with no valid destination won't forward anything.
Deactivating an alias stops forwarding immediately. The alias stays on your account with its history intact and you can turn it back on any time. Deletion is permanent — only do that when you're sure.
Categories and grouping are just for your own organisation. They don't change how email is routed or delivered.
