Removing a domain from your account is permanent. The domain itself (the registration) is unaffected — you still own it — but it's disconnected from AliasFleet and any aliases on it stop working.
How to remove
Go to Domains, find the domain you want to remove, and click the trash icon. A confirmation dialog appears — confirm to proceed.
What happens to aliases on that domain
Any alias using the removed domain stops forwarding immediately. Emails sent to those addresses will bounce. The aliases themselves stay in your account but are essentially broken — they won't forward anything until assigned to a working domain, which isn't currently possible (alias addresses are fixed at creation).
If you plan to remove a domain, you should delete or deactivate the aliases on it first, or be aware that they'll stop working.
What happens to subdomains
If the domain being removed has subdomains attached, those subdomains are also removed along with it.
Before you remove
- Check how many aliases are on the domain — the domain row shows an alias count
- Deactivate aliases you care about (to avoid confusing bounces)
- Delete aliases you no longer need
Removing a subdomain only
You can remove a subdomain without affecting the root domain. Go to the domain list, find the subdomain row (shown indented under its parent), and use the trash icon on it.
